LIT's Plans for Windows 7

LIT has been testing Windows 7 for several weeks and is carefully following reports from early adopters of this new operating system. Thus far we have been favorably impressed with the new OS. Our local testing has identified several problems related to incompatibilities with older printer drivers and drivers for other peripheral devices. As is usual practice for a new OS, we do not plan to deploy Windows 7 for the campus until the first service pack is released. The service pack will include bug fixes that have been identified by early adopters and will undoubtedly include some driver updates. This will most likely occur over the summer of 2010. We will keep you posted with our plans concerning Windows 7.
